The PhysiYoga Project was founded in 2017 by Brian Roy-Garland in Denver, Colorado. It is a healing space dedicated to the implementation of PhysiYoga as means of rebalancing the whole person: Spirit, Mind & Body.
What is Physiyoga?
The field of using yoga therapeutically is rapidly expanding as yogis and non-yogis desire injury rehabilitation through less conventional methods. The therapeutic application of yoga and its teachings are inherently applicable to treating an injury especially for those with active yoga practices - whether new to the practice or quite experienced.
PhysiYoga is a term popularized by The Threes PhysiYoga Method (TM) Physiyoga is the merging of physical therapy principles with yoga. It is the practical application of applied anatomy, biomechanics, physiology and kinesiology into a yoga practice. As physical therapists and yoga teachers we have found that patients and clients get relief from pain and return to what they love faster through this integrative practice. Combining breath, mindfulness and asana with western therapeutic methods creates an approach that is holistic and thorough.
Expect mindful re-alignment, to release rigid, to support floppy, to learn about your anatomy & mechanics, to have homework, and to look at asana in a whole new way. Resistance bands, props, pulleys, anatomic models and more are staples of PhysiYoga.
Brian Roy Garland is a licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Colorado, a 500 hr Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance and Certified Teacher of The Threes PhysiYoga Method (TM). He received his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Springfield College in 2002 and has been a dedicated yogi since 2001. Once he discovered the practice he became enamoured by the deeply transformative and therapeutic qualities of yoga. As a competitive gymnast since an early age, Brian has always been consumed with the body’s ability to create shapes. These cumulative experiences have led to his passion to share the benefits of Physical Therapy and Yoga (PhysiYoga) with others in order to restore balance and facilitate healing in the body.

In addition to private PhysiYoga treaments and private/semi-private Yoga sessions, Brian also teaches live and virtual alignment based group PhysiYoga classes at Kindness Yoga. He also teaches Yoga Anatomy live and virtually in the Yoga Teacher Training Program with Kindness Yoga and previously with Yoga Pod Denver West and Denver Yoga Underground. Brian equips his students with the tools for a safe and efficient yoga practice for life using light hearted awareness of body and breath at the core of all teachings. His teaching is layered with mindful re-alignment, yoga philosophy, injury prevention, anatomy education, and encouragement. Classes are ever changing, based on the needs of his students and his own personal continuous study of the all the wonders of the human body. Whether a beginner or a more seasoned yogi, expect to find muscles you never knew you had, get stronger and stack your bones in new ways.
